The scope of work at Westvale Park included the replacement and re-grading of all existing athletic fields, repairs to the existing asphalt walkway, construction of drainage and irrigation systems, ADA compliant restrooms and concession facility, the installation of lighting to the walkway and soccer, football, softball and baseball fields, a new bike path and a dog run; as well as several other amenities.
Monies to help fund the project included a grant for $325,215 from the Bergen County Open Space Program and a Green Acres grant that will cover 25 percent of the total cost of the project, or about $682,000.

This was a very rewarding project to be a part of. For the Borough of Westwood this project is the result of many years of planning and hard work. Area residents have been waiting for these fields for years; and Let It Grow was ready and willing to help see the project come to its fruition.
